PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE STRATEGY BASED ON AUTOMATED ASSETS MANAGEMENT

Abstract

The article studies the features of implementation of strategies to prevent breakdown of fixed assets of the enterprise based on automated assets management. In the introductory part of the article, the concept of strategies and their role in developing recommendations to prevent potential breakdowns are considered. The author proves the effectiveness of EAM-systems (Enterprise Asset Management System) with RCM module (Reliability Centered Maintenance) that stick to the principle of ‘reliability-based maintenance’. The reliability of an item of fixed assets is ensured by its design and quality characteristics, evidence-based maintenance of equipment, timely maintenance and repair works, quality and availability of spare parts, highly qualified staff, and the availability of appropriate documents for maintenance and repair. The RCM module is based on determining the time of potential and functional failure of equipment based on its individual characteristics and the choice of an individual method of maintenance. The RCM methodology includes four strategies – reactive, preventive, predictive, and proactive. The author presents the main difficulties of using RCM in the work of modern enterprises and offers a methodology for implementing a strategy for preventing the breakdown of fixed assets of the enterprise based on the use of RCM technologies. Using the methodology proposed in the article, one can conduct a comprehensive analysis of the reliability of fixed assets, taking into account the impact of MRO, and develop appropriate strategies for preventing breakdowns.
