PROFESSIONAL FUTURE IN THE CONTEXT OF EMPLOYMENT AND LABOR MARKET DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION

Abstract

The article presents the results of a study of the prospects of employment and labor market development in the context of digital transformation of Russia’s socio-economic space. The review of domestic scientific thought served to generalize approaches to assessing the significance of the economy digitalization: this process is considered as a driver of improving the economic entities efficiency, as a change in the relationship of the economic process participants and as a technology of changing social relations. The positive consequences of the employment sphere and labor market transformation under the influence of digitalization have been established, such as the increase in the social component in the employment development, the formation of non-standard employment forms, the increase in the importance of education and the orientation of professional education to the labor market needs. The negative consequences of digital transformation include an increase in inter-regional inequality and, as a result, an increase in unemployment, a decrease in the standard of living and quality of life, and a decrease in the labor potential of certain regions, which will contribute to the leveling of the labor social function. The prospective application of artificial intelligence technologies will generate changes in the employment structure, will increase the requirements to the level of workers' qualifications and their digital literacy; as a consequence, there will be problems of employment preservation and labor market, as well as problems of social and ethical nature. The results of studying the employment transformation sociological aspect in the context of digitalization revealed the difference in the perception of the upcoming transformations, the patterns determined by age and personality characteristics, and influencing the desire, aspiration and readiness of individuals to take their place in the digital reality. The results obtained point to the need to find effective measures of employment development in the context of digitalization and form the prospects for further development of this research field.
