KEY PROBLEMS ON THE WAY OF DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF RUSSIAN SHIPBUILDING
Abstract
Digital technologies are increasingly entering both everyday life and the production and management processes of modern organizations. The introduction of digital technologies of “Industry 4.0”, such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, the use of 3D models, digital twins of ships and business processes, up to the creation of digital enterprises, constitute the current global trends in the development of world shipbuilding and are actively introduced into the production process by the leaders of the shipbuilding industry. Ambitious goals for the digitalization of domestic shipbuilding are also laid down in the Strategy for the Development of the shipbuilding industry until 2035. Nevertheless, the experience of implementing previous strategic plans for the innovative development of the Russian economic system has shown that these goals are not always realistic. In this study, the authors assess the readiness of domestic shipbuilding enterprises to implement modern digital technologies, identify and systematize the key problems of the industry that hinder this process. Most of them are the result of technical and technological gap, management imperfections, financial and personnel problems, without a comprehensive and systematic solution of which it is impossible to ensure the transition of the Russian shipbuilding industry to a qualitatively new innovative level, and therefore, the introduction of advanced digital technologies will remain only on paper.
