DIGITAL PLATFORMS AS A TOOL FOR INDUSTRIAL COOPERATION IN THE REGIONAL ECONOMY
Abstract
Relevance of the study presented in the article is determined by the demand of regional economies for the modernization of production chains and the organization of industrial cooperation on a new technological basis. The objective of the article is to develop a conceptual approach to the use of digital platforms as a tool for stimulating industrial cooperation, contributing to the localization of production and the accelerated formation of high-tech clusters in the regions. The following tasks were set and solved to achieve this objective: the author's approach to the typology of digital platforms based on the depth of their integration into the regional production processes was presented; a conceptual architecture of the regional digital platform in the field of industrial cooperation was developed; the choice of indicators and a methodological basis for assessing the effect of the platform's functioning in the regional economy were substantiated. A classification of digital platforms based on the degree of their integration into the production cycle was presented. The choice of this classification criterion was justified by its importance for regional industrial policy. Four levels of digital platforms were identified and characterized: industry marketplaces for industrial equipment, raw materials and components, cooperative interface platforms, joint design and engineering platforms, and ecosystem platforms for the full life cycle of a product. A conceptual architecture for a digital platform has been developed, comprising five components: data, cooperation integration, analytics, services, and management and regulation. To assess the digital platform's impact on the regional economy, an input-output model has been modified to determine the impact on specific cooperation chains captured by the platform. The evaluation metrics highlight the following areas of analysis: changes in labor productivity and capital productivity, procurement structure, increases in employment and tax revenues, and reduction in administrative costs. Solutions are proposed to address potential challenges in implementing the proposed conceptual approach in practice. Directions for the development of platform solutions in industrial cooperation are identified.
